Meat and Potatoes in Babylone

After our visit to the Musée d'Orsay, Bill and I arrived late to Au Babylone -- at the very end of the lunch time. Their regulars had all eaten and gone. We'd enjoyed a lovely set lunch menu there when we were last in Paris.
But our welcoming waitress said she could offer us two main courses -- a plate of pork and a plate of beef, if that would suit us.
It would suit us just fine, we said, with a half-litre of Côtes du Rhône.
She brought the food and Bill poured the wine.
We were very happy.
Bill's roast beef could be cut with a fork.
My roast pork was tender and tasty. Both with divine mashed potatoes and gravy.
No French meal would be complete without fresh bread and a carafe of water.
And espresso to finish, of course.
We'll be back to Au Babylone.
We walked through the romantic Square Boucicaut to the Sèvres–Babylone Métro station.

  1. T'was indeed, Shelley. We will definitely return for the lunch menu soon. The place has a classic look and the staff are very sweet. The two front ladies looked like Kate and Anna McGarrigle!
